May 2014
This semester has been one for the books! Spring semester is usually packed with Greek philanthropies and competitions. We whole heartedly participated in all of them including Shamrock Showcase, Derby Days, Beauty Bowl, and Grand Slam Softball just to name a few. The most notable of all for us was our own. This year we beat our personal record and raised over 17 thousand dollars for Autism Speaks! We can't thank everyone who helped us reach this goal enough.
An unexpected surprise happened as well when six of our sisters were named Sweet Hearts or Dream Girl for different fraternities in the Greek System including Delta Upsilon, Pi Kappa Alpha, Theta Chi, Kappa Sigma, and Sigma Chi. These women put their time and effort to building quality relationships with the men on our campus. Congrats ladies, you deserve it!
The last and biggest event this semester for us was the Associated Students Leadership Gala. Our chapter was awarded Sorority of the Year out of every sorority council including PHC, NPHC and Multicultural. We were also awarded Best in Panhellenic council and Excellence in Chapter Management. We're so proud of our accomplishments being such a new chapter at San Jose State and we hope to continue improving next semester. Stay tuned for more updates about Fall Recruitment and more!

In conjunction with our national website, we created this blog to give you a closer look at our chapter, as well as keep you up to date on upcoming events such as recruitment and philanthropy projects.
February 2014
This month we added 17 new members to our chapter bringin us to 110 total chapter members!
Last week we held an all-chapter retreat at Camp Campbell in Santa Cruz where we worked on our team skill and chapter unity... happy to say we left more united than ever!
We also participated in Delta Upsilon's Gatorade Pong and two of our teams placed 2nd and 3rd! Congratulations to our sisters Tiffany, Mikaela, Taylor & Catrina for doing such a great job. All of the proceeds go to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
In the month of March we are looking forward towards Kappa Delta's Shamrock Showcase, Alpha Phi's King of Hearts, and of course our own Big and Little week!!

December 2013
As the year comes to a close, our chapter has many memories and accomplishments to look back on. Most recently, we transitioned to our 2014 Executive board and 3 of our sisters went alum including our current President, Beth Clark, our current Financial VP, and our former President, Marina Troian. We will miss them greatly and we wish them the best of luck in the real world!
In recent philanthropies, our sister, Brandy Petri, was named the White Rose Queen for our brother fraternity, Sigma Nu. We helped raise money and collect cans for the Wounded Warrior project. In addition, we participated in Delta Sigma Phi's, Spartans Best Dance Crew competition and Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash. As usually our girls put in all their effort and rocked both dances!
We cannot wait for what's ahead of us in the Spring Semester! Look for our next blog post in January !

September 2013
We are one month into school and already and so much has happened! In the month of September we participated in formal recruitment and welcomed 35 new members into our house! The new members are featured on our Sister Spotight where you can learn a little about each of them. So far we have had a sisterhood retreat at a Rock Climbing gym, our first serenade with our neighbors Alpha Tao Omega and a social with our brother fraternity Sigma Nu. We are excited to have them be apart of our great sisterhood and for the events to come.

July 2013
We would like to welcome you to our brand new Blog! During this past summer, Membership Vice President Lauren and Technology Chair Jalena have been working hard on creating a place where sisters, friends, family, and future Alpha Xi's get an in-depth look into our lives! Our goal is to update this blog frequently throughout the year to let people know what exactly we are up to. Ths blog will serve as a way for everyone to know what Alpha Xi Delta at San Jose State is truly about -- a group of women going through the highs and lows of college life but still support each other through everything!
It's July, which means that sisters are still in the middle of enjoying this wonderful summer! If you take even a quick glimpse at our Facebook page, we have an album just dedicated to what sisters are up to this summer (and let me tell you we are having the time of our lives!) Our President and Membership Vice President just came back from AXiD's National Convention a few weeks ago where they had a chance to meet sisters from around the country! Sisters are also travelling and exploring beautiful places like Thailand, the Bahamas, and secret beaches down the California coast. Even when sisters don't have the time or money to travel they are still hanging out around San Jose and just soaking up the summer sun. We cannot wait to get back together in August to hear amazing stories of Summer 2013!
Be on the lookout for our next posting -- we will be giving you a glimpse to how sisters are spending the end of their summer and all of us reuinited! We will also begin to give you a close up look at this year's recruitment and what it is all about. Stay tuned!
